Grading Scale

When I grade something it will be out of a scale of 12 and approximately work out as:

  • 12/12 Perfect (or as close to perfect as possible)
  • 11/12 A+
  • 10/12 A
  • 09/12 A-
  • 08/12 B+
  • 07/12 B
  • 06/12 B-
  • 05/12 C+
  • 04/12 C
  • 03/12 D
  • 02/12 F
  • 01/12 Epic Fail

For individual episodes in a series when something rates a 12/12 a secondary score will be added. This score will be between 0-3 “+” with the more pluses being better. For example, episode 26 of Gurren-Lagann would rate a 12+++/12 whereas episode 14 of Kanon (where Mei story arc ends) would rate a 12++/12 and episode 1 of Clannad would get a 12+/12. The pluses take into account how awesome the episode was, how important the episode is to the entire series, and how sustained was the episode perfect.

For individual works like stories in a magazine or a movie as well as a review of the entire series, I will drop the secondary scale and the maximum possible will be a 12/12. For works that fall under this category I will sometimes add a ranking for it’s rewatchablity/rereadability. This ranking will range like this:

  • none
  • (very low) Very small chance
  • (low) Maybe after several months
  • (medium) I’ll definitely at some time in the future
  • (high) I plan on doing so very soon
  • (vey high) If I possibly could I’d be doing so right now but I’ll have to settle for as soon as possible
