A Wintery Visit to the Beach

January 17, 2010

Today it hit a balmy 40 degrees F (4.4 deg C) so my family decided to take the 1.5 hour drive up to see how the beach looks in winter time. Turns out, it’s really cool both figuratively and literally. In the picture above I’m standing about 20 feet from shore over Lake Erie itself – the mixture of ice/snow/sand felt solid but it still was a bit unsettling to know that I was walking on the lake itself. Below is more shots that I took including one of the snowman that two of my sisters made.

    That is so pretty!

Heh, by the sound of it, you live around the same area that I’m going to college–same area being around a hour around where I’m going. :P

    Nice photographs :)

Oh noes! I see a footprint of a Sasquatch! :P

    That’s a cute snowman :)

@Janette: Thanks. That’s probably the case, if you’re going to become a YSU penguin then we’d be really close but even an Akron/Cleveland college (or other college inbetween) would be somewhat close.

@Kitsune: Thanks. It felt very surreal that there was a place so close to home that felt like a completely alien location, we joked about seeing a polar bear but a Sasquatch would have worked too :)

Actually, I’ll be a TU Dragon, but still close. If you’re ever in the area, come say hi. XD

I definitely will if I’m ever near Tiffin. :)
